Choosing between Oil or Acrylic paint
I was thinking of starting painting, and I was wondering what medium should I start with first - acrylic or oil paint? Bob Ross teaches with oil, but I have heard other people say that acrylic is easier to handle? Also, there seems to be more materials needed with oil paint and overall the supplies are more expensive. What do you all recommend?

- MiuI'd start with acrylic honestly. Oil is great but you also need the linseed oil, solvents, containers for liquids. Also need to think about ventilation, drying space (oil dries slower), and oil often requires more cleanup.
- BenjaminThat sounds reasonable, thanks
- Aurora B.Acrylic for sure if you’re just starting. It’s cheaper and way less annoying to deal with lol. Oil is really nice for blending though, especially if you like the Bob Ross style.
- BenjaminYes, I agree. I think I might just stick with acrylic for now
