Need Help Finding A Theme!

I am really struggling with finding a theme for my AP drawing portfolio. What growth does the portfolio need to show? Does growth mean showing an improvement in your artistic ability or does it mean showing growth of your character through the theme? I am just really struggling with finding a viable theme. If any of you took AP art, what were your themes and how did you show growth?
